ALABAMA: Alabama Governor, Robert Bentley, is calling it one of the largest job announcements for the state. An auto-supply company (ASC) is moving to Tuscaloosa County. The company is called SMP Automotive Systems. It is an automotive supplier.
“We’re very proud they’re coming to West Alabama we’re very proud they’re coming to Alabama,” said Bentley. The automotive company will supply parts, like painted bumpers, spoilers and interior door panels, to the Mercedes Benz Plant in Vance. The company plans to build a new $150 million plant near Mercedes.”
This is going to help the lives of so many people in Alabama especially west Alabama and its going to help families and these are high skilled manufacturing jobs,” said Bentley. In a time when other industries in the area are laying off employees, Jim Page, CEO of the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce, said the announcement is nothing but positive.
