NEW YORK: Two people are facing charges after police confiscated more than two grams of heroin in a Lower East Side house.
The Lawrence County District Attorney’s office detectives have charged 28-year-old Amber Dawn Hooks and Kei-Arie Gerome Stewart, 25, both of Pine St., in connection with the alleged find.
Members of the district attorney’s drug task force served a sealed search warrant at the house around 6 a.m. here the other day and found three adults and three children in the house. Children and Youth Services removed the children from the home.
Police found the 2.5 gram of suspected heroin inside the kitchen ceiling tiles. They also found a digital scale.
Hooks and Stewart each are charged with one count of possession and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
They were arraigned by District Judge Melissa A. Amodie, who set their bonds at $25,000 each.
