USAID, SCCI to launch WINDS project

SIALKOT: The USAID and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) will jointly launch a project namely “Women Investment in Network of Dairy Investment (WINDS)” here.

A launching ceremony will be held at the SCCI here Thursday. Chairperson SCCI’s Committee for Women Entrepreneurs Dr Mariyam Nouman said that the WINDS was an exemplary project which was the first initiative in this field to be run by the USAID under its Punjab Enabling Environment in Sialkot to provide opportunities of investment in the dairy development sector in the district.

Mariyam Nouman added that the SCCI had yet identified 200 women intending to invest in the dairy sector under the WINDS project as the both USAID and the SCCI will contact women of rural areas.

She said that under the project, USAID experts would impart training to women in dairy development, milk testing and milk preservation methods as well.
