NEW DELHI: HTC issued an update to the HTC One M9 that supposedly brought about some improvements to the phone, most notably to its camera. It will also consume less power when running popular apps such as YouTube and Facebook. There have been some users reporting that after the update, their phones are now charging slower than before. Specifically, they complained that after updating their handsets, their charging times became longer.
According to these users, it is taking up to 13 hours to fully charge their handsets.
It seems the first wave of Suretap compatible devices, which is a platform that enables mobile payments, will be the Moto X (2014), HTC One M8, HTC One M9, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.
It looks like HTC is aware of the problem, as it has been instructing frustrated M9 owners on its United Kingdom Twitter account on how to temporarily fix the problem. It says: “Can you please uninstall the Google Photos App. This should be a temporary fix for the charging issue”. This week, after releasing the financial results for this year’s second quarter, the company admitted that it is struggling to maintain its high revenue goal, Android Headlines reported.
