USS WAYNE E. MEYER arrives at Karachi Port for naval visit

KARACHI: The United States Navy ship USS WAYNE E. MEYER arrived at Karachi Port on a two-day goodwill mission, marking another significant milestone in maritime cooperation between the Pakistan Navy and the U.S. Navy.

The arrival of WAYNE E. MEYER symbolizes not only a growing defense partnership but also the shared commitment of both nations to ensuring regional peace and security.

Upon arrival, senior officials of the Pakistan Navy warmly welcomed the visiting crew. The U.S. Chargé d’Affaires and representatives from the U.S. Consulate also attended the reception, underlining the diplomatic importance of the visit. Throughout the stay, officers and sailors from USS WAYNE E. MEYER will take part in a series of professional interactions, including training sessions, operational discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities with their Pakistan Navy counterparts. These engagements are designed to strengthen interoperability, foster mutual understanding, and enhance joint maritime coordination.

The visit will conclude with a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) in the North Arabian Sea, where ships of the Pakistan Navy will join USS WAYNE E. MEYER in advanced naval maneuvers. The exercise will showcase tactical collaboration, readiness, and shared operational capabilities.

According to the Directorate General Public Relations (Pakistan Navy), the presence of WAYNE E. MEYER in Karachi highlights the strong ties between Pakistan and the United States. It also reflects their joint dedication to promoting maritime stability, regional security, and wider global peace.
