Uzbekistan to further strengthen bilateral ties with Pakistan: Ambassador

ISLAMABAD: Uzbekistan is interested to further promote the bilateral ties with Pakistan in areas including trade, fertilizer, agriculture, education and tourism.

The envoy of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Furqat Sidiqov lecture title by “Uzbekistan, Media Culture” organised by the society of asian civilization Pakistan here on Thursday.

He said after independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Pakistan was the first country to recognize the independence. Furqat sidiqov said Pakistan and Uzbekistan have strong historic and cultural links.

He said after independenence, Uzbekistan started its journey of transition from communism to market economy. He said the country mainly depends on agriculture and cotton.

He said direct flight from Lahore to Uzbekistan have been started, which will reduce the travel time to merely two hours which is great achievement of Uzbekistan embassy.

The ambassador said people-to-people and military-to-military relations would also be strengthened between two countries.

Iftikhar Arif, DG, PNPD, ambassador of Thurkmanistan, membors ofsociety, academicians, various notables personalities were also present on the occasion.
