KARACHI: Sindh High Court has sought para-wise comments from Federal Secretary, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs by July 19 in a petition, submitted for immediate appointment of chairman to Special Customs Appellate Tribunals.
A divisional bench, comprising Justice Irfan Saddat Khan and Justice Arshad Hussai, sought the comments on the petition submitted by Ghulamullah and Zia-ul-Hasan Advocates. The importers and exporters are suffering due to inordinate delay in appointment of chairman of the Special Customs Appellate Tribubal, they submitted.
The petitioners, Customs and Sales Tax Practitioners Association’s President Saleem Mangrio and Joint Secretary Ghulamullah advocate, maintained that post of the Appellate Tribunals chairman has been lying vacant for the last four months.
