NEW DELHI: Revenue target of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) exceeded Rs325.64 crore in financial year 2014-15 budget .
The civic body surpassed its ambitious tax targets last week itself and has now collected taxes double than what it did in 2010-11.
With healthy collections through the year, these were revised to Rs 351.16 crore in the revised budget. The closing of the financial year saw the civic body mop up Rs 371 crore.
The amount is more than double when compared with the collections in 2010-11. The civic body had then collected Rs 178.49 crore as taxes. It has been only since the financial year 2013-14 that the civic body’s tax collection has crossed the Rs 300 crore mark with Rs 312.41 crore being recovered last fiscal.
