Custom Court issues show-cause notice to investigation officer in vehicle smuggling case

KARACHI: Custom Taxation and Anti-Smuggling court judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi has issued a show-cause notice to Investigation Officer Parwaz Ahmed Zardari who did not appear before the court in non-duty paid Toyota Camry car case.

During the hearing, when court called the case, but the investigation officer was absent without any intimation notice, therefore, the court issued show-cause notice to him and called explanation that why he was absent without any intimation notice.

The court was informed that suspect in the case, Tariq Mahmood, has not been arrested yet. The court issued non-bailable arrest warrant against the suspect.

According to the prosecution, on April 26, 2016 the anti-smuggling organization recovered Toyota Camry car bearing registration number APF-820 model 2007 which was smuggled. Therefore, a case was registered against the suspect.
