SAVANNAH: The Georgia Ports Authority Police is investigating after a private truck operator was killed in an accident on Tuesday morning. According to GPA Police, the accident happened around 9 a.m. on the Mason rail yard at the Port of Savannah’s Garden City Terminal.
The Chatham County Coroner’s office has identified the victim as 61-year-old David L. Beaver of Savannah. Preliminary reports indicate Beaver had exited his vehicle when he was struck by a second vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. The accident is remains under investigation.
