HANOI: Vietnamese entrepreneurs learned today about new business opportunities in Brazil in the agricultural sector, during a meeting held in Hanoi with executives from institutions of the South American country.
The presentation included aspects related to the production and export of soybeans, corn, dairy, meat (pork, chicken, beef) as well as industrial processes for obtaining ethanol and biomass from sugarcane to generate energy and the marketing of leather. In addition, the visiting delegation discussed issues related to the quality and security of food in their nation and the development prospects of the Brazilian market in that field.
The initiative was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Brazil supply in coordination with the Chamber of Commerce and Vietnam Industry (VCCI) and the Brazilian embassy on the occasion of the visit of the Minister of Agriculture, Blairo Maggi, to the Indochinese nation. In his speech to the participants, the head of the diplomatic mission, Marco Brandao recalled that bilateral trade reached 3.9 billion dollars last year.
In this regard he mentioned, the main exports to this market: corn, feed, soybeans and cotton. The general secretary of the VCCI, Pham Thi Thu Hang, noted that Vietnam has exported telephones, aquaculture and electronic products to Brazil. He also highlighted the potential for the development of these ties, which were established in 1989.
