ISLAMABAD: Peshawar electric supply company (PESCO) bought six non-customs paid vehicles costing Rs2.6 million which is a violation of rules and regulations, revealed in the meeting chaired by Convener committee and MNA PPP Syed Naveed Qamar in Parliament House.

The committee expressed dismay over the WAPDA deal against the ECC’s decision. Naveed Qamar said that no institution can sign this kind of pact without approval of the ECC. Secretary Water and Power also agreed that WAPDA signed this contract illegally. The Committee ordered that the amount Rs100 million would be deducted from the permanent payments of company and if any company wants to sign this kind of deal in future then it should take permission from the ECC. The committee sent back the issue of late payment to DAC and instructed to submit an inquiry report to committee.
The committee ordered the audit objects of Ministry of Petroleum should be resolved in DAC. The committee said that all ministries would send their issues to DAC. The committee settled a few audit objections and sent others back for further investigation and asked for report on these objections on February 19.
