Viral video of NIIA customs staff forwarded to FBR for action

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member Customs Awais Jawwad Agha received video clips of Customs staff deputed at New Islamabad International Airport (NIIA) in which they are clearly seen getting cash from passengers on Wednesday.

Sources told Customs Today that after watching a viral video of Customs staff who were getting cash from passengers at New Islamabad International Airport (NIIA), the Collector Seema Raza Bukhari ordered to off duty all the staff involved in said incident and asked to launch an inquiry against the NIIA Customs staff (inspectors and sepoys).

The sources told that after completion of inquiry, if anyone found guilty he will be suspended from service. Collector Seema Raza Bukhari assigned Assistant Collector NIIA Farheen Zahra to conduct inquiry of 12 Customs officers who were clearly seen in the camera footage, sources told.
