SYDNEY: Vodafone Hutchison Australia has extended contract with Nokia Networks for another four years.
The Nokia managed services under the deal include operations and maintenance as well as remote network management from Nokia’s global delivery centre in India Also, Nokia will provide real-time service management for VHA’s multi-vendor paging, 2G, 3G and 4G networks.
The deal also includes a joint transformation project that the companies said would save money over the life of the contract.
The deal extends a managed services contract signed between the companies in 2006.
“This initiative is in line with our commitment to provide the best-in-class service experience to our customers, even as we focus on evolving our infrastructure to address future capacity and coverage requirements,” said Vodafone CTO Benoit Hansen.
“Nokia Networks’ service capabilities provide us with a strong platform to do this, while we continue to execute on our extensive growth plans.”
In February, Vodafone CEO Iñaki Berroeta revealed a new three-year Vodafone strategy to grow the business.
“During the next three years, our ambition is to grow the business, in terms of customers and also financially,” he told media at Vodafone’s headquarters in North Sydney.
“Our role in the market is to bring new things, to challenge established players and to give them more of a battle for our customers but also for the overall market. We will be innovating and enhancing the value-add that our customers get.”
