Wait: Galaxy A8 is coming

NEW DELHI: Samsung Mobile has obtained info on a new handset with the codename SM-A800F also known as the Samsung Galaxy A8. It will be a mid-range phone like the rest of its brethren, but as the A8 implies, it will be at the top of the product lines food chain.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 is set to be a beast with a 5.7-inch FHD display. That’s Note territory, but it’s going to be relatively svelte at 157.7mm x 76.7mm x 5.9mm with a weight of 140 grams. It’s even more impressive when you factor in the 16MP sensor on the back which pairs nicely with the 5MP snapper on the front.

When it comes to power, the Samsung Galaxy A8 will be a slight step down from the Galaxy S6 as it’s said to sport a Snapdragon 615 and 2GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of storage and a 3,050mAh battery as well, but whether the storage is expandable or the battery removable is still very much up in the air. Rounding things out for the Samsung Galaxy A8 are LTE and Android 5.0.1 with a little TouchWiz mixed in.

If the Samsung Galaxy A8 specs prove to be true, it will be one of Sammy’s best mid-range Smartphone’s this year, and should sell well if priced right. Unfortunately, the Smartphone is going to launch in China and there’s no word on if it will find its way to other regions after it’s released.
