Wapda signs agreement for constructing transmission line at Dasu

LAHORE: The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Friday signed an agreement with Power Construction Corporation of China for construction of132 Kilo Volt (KV) transmission line from Duber Khwar Hydel Power Station to Dasu for providing uninterrupted power supply to facilitate the construction of Dasu Hydropower Project.

The contract worth Rs 1.583 billion includes procurement, design, supply, installation, stringing, testing and commissioning of 132 KV single circuit transmission line from Duber Khwar to Dasu and 132 KV Grid Station at Dasu.

The transmission line and the grid station are scheduled to be completed in about 8 months.

General Manager and Project Director Dasu Hydropower Project, Haji Muhammad Farooq and Business Development Manager of Power Construction Corporation China, Liu Zhong signed the agreement on behalf of their organizations.

Chairman Wapda Zafar Mahmood, Member (Water) Muhammad Shoaib Iqbal, Member (Power) Badrul Munir Murtiza, Member (Finance) Anwarul Haq and other officers concerned were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, the Wapda Chairman said it was all the more important that the transmission line was completed according to schedule so that the required quantum of electricity was made available when civil works of Dasu Hydropower Project start as well as to local villages.
