LONDON: Warner Bros Interactive has released the launch trailer for Mortal Kombat X which will be released after a week.

The trailer is part of a multi-video collaboration with System of a Down and is directed by the band’s bassist, Shavo Odadjian. It’s just over two minutes long and consists of a montage of in-game footage matched up with a shortened version of the band’s hit ‘Chop Suey’.

“I felt more like I was editing a movie,” Odadjian explained in a behind-the-scenes video for the launch trailer.

“I kind of forgot that it was a videogame during the edit. Fans of the game are going to love this.”

‘Chop Suey’ was also used in a live-action TV spot for the game, which was released towards the end of last month.

Mortal Kombat X is released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on April 14. It’s also coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at a later date.
