FAISALABAD: The WASA on Saturday inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between JICA of Japan for upgradation of installed machinery at Booster Pumping Station and Terminal Reservoir here with a cost of Rs 1.5 billion.
Managing Director WASA Syed Zahid Aziz and JICA representative Kenji Shinoda signed the MOU.
According to a spokesman of WASA, under the agreement, the JICA will replace the existing machinery of Booster Pumping Station and Terminal Reservoir with the latest machinery which would help boost pumping capacity of the In-line Pumping
Station with four latest pumps of 30 Cu sic and 3 Pumps of 3 Cusecs. Similarly, 7 Pumps of 22 Cusecs and 3 pumps of 16 cusecs will also be replaced.
Under the MOU, a new power house will also be constructed at reservoir which would help augmentation of drinking water for citizens with minimum consumption of electricity.
