Wasa prepared for upcoming monsoon

LAHORE: On the directive of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) has prepared its staff to cope with challenge, which can be created during the upcoming monsoon in the city.

Wasa Managing Director Chaudhary Naseer Ahmad told the state-owned news agency that all important low lying areas in the provincial metropolis had already been identified and special heavy machinery for prompt disposal of rain water would be deployed well on time. He said proper cleaning of all drains passing through different areas of the city had also been carried out properly under the supervision of Xens and SDOs concerned. He said that WASA caters to the needs of 70 per cent of the total population of the district having the largest network of sewerage and potable water.
