MIRPUR: The water level in Mangla Dam is being constantly elevated to meet the upcoming seasonal power generation besides the agricultural needs in the country including AJK.
Elaborating the current water level position in the reservoir, official sources told APP here Tuesday evening that the water level in Mangla reservoir was raised to the level of 1231.05 feet against the maximum conservation level of 1242 feet with live storage of 6.557 MAF.
Minimum operating water level in the reservoir is 1040 feet. At the same time the position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages was recorded on Tuesday as under:
Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 247200 cusecs and Outflows 208400 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 75900 cusecs and Outflows 75900 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 69800 cusecs and Outflows 60000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 112800 cusecs and Outflows 82800 cusecs.
Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 323200 cusecs and Outflows 314700 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows 369700 cusecs and Outflows 383200 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 270400 cusecs and Outflows 252400 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 84100 cusecs and Outflows 69400 cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 212400 cusecs and Outflows 178200 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 152500 cusecs and Outflows 96700 cusecs, Kotri: Inflows 47600 cusecs and Outflows 6900 cusecs.
Reservoirs ( Level and Storage): Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1380 feet, present level 1515.50 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 4.560 million acre feet (MAF).
Chashma: Minimum operating level 637 feet, present level 644.00 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage on Tuesday day 0.115 MAF.
