KARACHI: The Karachi Marble Export Association has said that Karachi is the biggest market of marble but the industry is breathing its last due to poor policies of the government.
The market is situated in Pak Colony and a business hub. The area has a lot of marble polishing factories but water unavailability is a major problem.
“Water is the part and parcel of marble factories but is hardly available to fulfill the required needs. Marble is exported and a lot of foreigners used to visit the area, but they are no more coming here due to poor condition and late deliveries. We hardly receive an order from international market these days,” a representative of Karachi Marble Export Association said.
