LONDON: Backing up chats on Google Drive was introduced on the 2.12.45 version and it was added to the 2.12.58 version, as well. The Android users can also backup their photos, but not video files, but to not lose these files, the users can copy them to their computers. In the meantime, WhatsApp removed this option from the newer versions, so you’ll have to look for the 2.12.58 APK file over the internet and download it to your smartphone. Enable the Unknown Sources option, before downloading this version, because otherwise you won’t be allowed to install files from other websites than Google Play.
This APK file has a size of approximately 19.6MB and it contains some bug fixes and improvements to the Material Design (transparent status bar, a menu bar that is expanding/collapsing when you scroll down, changed icons), were added new animations and the performance was enhanced.
