LONDON: WhatsApp 2.12.157 beta was introduced with bug fixes to this application’s voice calling feature. According to the latest word on the street, the developers of this application are also working hard to bring the ability to save WhatsApp conversations on Google Drive to the stable version.

This feature was available on some earlier beta versions of this app, for instance, WhatsApp 2.12.38 and v2.12.44; however, it was discontinued due to reasons better known to the developers of the app. With such ability, it will be possible to access all of your saved WhatsApp conversations from any device that is supported by this cloud-based storage.

Improved WhatsApp voice calls

The latest version comes with a better WhatsApp voice calling experience, thanks to the fixes to errors and bugs that were affecting the performance of the previous version. Even after being addressed in several APK files of this app, users are continuing to complain that there are still issues of sudden call ends, lagging calls as well as huge consumption of data during these voice calls.

WhatsApp 2.12.157 APK free download seems to have taken care of lots of these issues, but there are still some complaints regarding the data consumption rate of the feature. Nevertheless, the smoothness of the application has improved as well as speed of response. The calls are also much clearer than before and there are no cases of background noises that affect the clarity of voice during calls.

WhatsApp video calls imminent

There has been ongoing talk of a possible WhatsApp video calling feature that might be released this summer or fall. Even though there is little that can be confirmed about this rumor, one thing that suggests this feature is coming to WhatsApp is the recent inclusion of the video calling ability in the latest version of Facebook Messenger, which is also owned by the company that owns WhatsApp.

Furthermore, WhatsApp is in constant competition with the other players like Viber, Skype, WeChat and LINE and all of them already offer this feature for their users. Thus, installing the video calling feature on this platform will enable it compete fairly with these companies in the IM and VoIP industry.
