NEW YORK: A few possible features of Whatsapp that may be added soon have been leaked online. Even though voice calling is still a feature absent on the app, users might still be able to make calls using Skype.
According to Maktechblog, the November update referenced a “Call via Skype” feature. There are also other features like ‘call hold’, ‘call mute’, ‘call back’ , ‘ call back message’, ‘call me in X minutes’.
The report has also mentioned a new feature called the ‘Driving Mode’ feature, which might be for the purpose of reading out messages loud when someone is driving or busy, as well as a ‘Do not disturb’ feature.
Earlier, voice calling was announced as soon as Facebook acquired Whatsapp. After this CEO Jan Koum had claimed that the service would be further delayed upto Q1 2015. This feature is likely to heat up the rivalry between close competitors like WeChat, Viber, and Line.
