Widows’ pension up from 75pc to 100pc, Rs800,000 for daughter’s marriage as families’ package enhanced

ISLAMABAD: The government had enhanced the package for the families of the government employees who die during service, said State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, and added the pension of such employees has been increased from 75 percent to 100 percent.

Moreover, her medical would be free and an amount of Rs 800,000 would be given to her on the marriage of her daughter, he said. On the floor of the National Assembly, he said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had enhanced pension of widow of such employees. The widow and children of the deceased can enjoy official accommodation till the age of superannuation of deceased employees. The package also envisages providing free education to the children of the deceased employees up to higher level, in addition to giving them a free plot.

Employment would be given to widows or widowers, one son or daughter to the posts in BS 01 to 15, on regular basis without advertisement against the post criteria of which applicant fulfills. A committee headed by the finance secretary has been constituted to calculate financial implications of the package.
