Windows 10 marks healthy start in PC world

LONDON: NetMarketSare figures show Windows 10 surpassing the likes of Mac OS X in just over a month, as Windows 7 and XP still lead the way.

Windows 10 appears to have enjoyed a healthy start to its life in the PC world, having already overhauled some major competitors to become the fourth most-used operating system in the world, new figures have shown.

The latest results from industry observers NetMarketShare have revealed that the latest version of Windows already has 5.21 percent of the total desktop PC market share, meaning it is already ahead of Windows 8 (2.56 percent) and Mac OS X 10.10 (4.76 percent).

Microsoft last month claimed that Windows 10, which was made available as a free update for users of previous Windows 7 and 8 systems, had already been installed on over 75 million devices.
