With focus on revenue target, FBR cancels Saturday as offday

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday announced to cancel Saturday’s holiday to boost efforts to achieve revenue collection target assigned for fiscal year 2025.

Federal Board of Revenue directed all field formations to focus on measures to achieve revenue collection target for fiscal year 2024-25.

FBR already forwarded a letter to all chief commissioners in this regard. FBR further directed to strictly follow office timings which will definitely help to achieve target.

The field formations will observe Saturday as normal working day.

The FBR asked field formations to adopt comprehensive strategy to achieve revenue collection target.

The FBR and its field formations will be operational on June 25, 2025 Saturday.

It is pertinent to note that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has allowed the Revenue Division to revise downward the annual tax target from Rs12,970 billion to Rs12,370 billion during the current year.

The revenue shortfall of FBR during the first nine months surged to Rs700 billion.
