LICKING, Mo: A St. Louis woman is jailed in Texas County after guards at the South Central Correctional Center say they caught her trying to smuggle what’s believed to be cocaine into the prison.
Yvtannya R. Stewart, age 45, of Creve Coeur was arrested for possession of controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance. Police say they were called to the prison after guards noticed Stewart acting suspicious. When they approached her, she tried to swallow the item. During the arrest, police say she dropped a balloon which contained what is believed to be cocaine.
A probable cause statement is being submitted to the Texas County Prosecuting Attorney seeking formal charges.
