He said Chinese funds will benefit Pakistan to complete its IPI project.

He said Pakistan has been trying to overcome its energy crisis by importing gas from Iran. However, sanctions on Iran in the past, did hamper the IPI development work, he added.

To a question, he said that hopefully this project will be initiated in October this year and will be completed in 30 months.

The Petroleum Minister said that Pakistan and China are jointly funding this project. Gwadar port in Pakistan will be the central hub for “China Pakistan Economic Corridor” which will allow Western China to access to “warm waters”, he added.
