NEW DELHI: Union Road, Transport, and Highways and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari, on Friday, said the technical and feasibility study for the Sagar port project has been completed and work on it is likely to start in March.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to lay the foundation stone. According to him, the port, along with an overbridge, is estimated to cost ₹2,700 crore.
“The Sagar port will be an addition to the major ports of the country,” Gadkari said at the Bengal Global Business Summit here. The minister said that both in ports and roads sectors, the Centre would make a combined investment of over ₹52,000 crore.
