Work on Sialkot-Lahore motorway to start soon

SIALKOT: The work on Sialkot-Lahore motorway would start soon to facilitate the people of the district, said Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Sunday.

Talking to APP here at Muslim League House, he said the proposed motorway project would help in linking remote areas with big cities and reduce the distance between Sialkot and Lahore. The mega project would not only ensure fast inter-city travelling facility but also provide economic boom as well as create employment opportunities in the region, he said.

The Minster said the government was making adequate efforts for improving the means of communication across the country with an aim to link backwards areas with developed ones of the country.

Earlier, the Defence Minister while addressing the people in open court said the PML-N government was making adequate efforts to resolve the people’s problems on priority basis. He further stated that the government had focused its attention towards bringing economic stability and put the country on road to progress.

At this juncture, economic stability had become vital for bringing prosperity and to boost development process in the country, he added. On this occasion, the Defence Minister listened to the complaints of the people and issued on the spot orders.

Members Punjab Assembly Khawaja Muhammad Manshaullah Butt, Chaudhry Muhammad Ikram and City President PML-N Woman Wing Nusret Jamshaid also present on the occasion.
