LAHORE: Pleasant working conditions in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) may turn violent as the Federal Revenue Alliance FBR Employees Union CBA has announced to hold protest  demonstrations in the Regional Tax Offices across the country against the dismissal of the union president.
In a letter issued, Federal Revenue Alliance Employees Union Secretary General Central Ghulam Akbar Chandio said that Union President Mian Abdul Qayyum has been dismissed from his service and the step of FBR is dissented nationally.
Accordingly, protests demonstration is decided to be held nationally, he added, explaining that black banners will be placed in support of Mian Abdul Qayoom inside the office premises and black strips will be tied on the left arms from February 26 till the further decision.
Chandio has asked all the presidents of the Regional Tax Offices and Model Customs Collectorate and the prime minister of Pakistan to look into the matter personally and resolve the issue in order to save the nation from important revenue loses.
The general secretary instructed the regional tax office presidents to write letter to the Finance Minister, Chairman FBR, Member Admin, concerned chief commissioners and collectors.
Lahore Tax Bar Association President Aysha Qazi and Ex-President Qari Habbib ur Rehman commenting on the situation urged both FBR officers and Union to resolve the matter on the table and show flexibility in the wider national interest.
