LONDON: NASA has been forced to come out and tell people that the world is not going to finish next month. The unusual move came after rumours swept the internet about an imminent asteroid strike expected between the 15th and the 28th of September.

But NASA has been quoted by the Guardian as saying that the two-week period in question will be entirely free of Earth-destroying space attacks.
According to the space agency, the likelihood of any known potentially-hazardous asteroids striking the planet within the next 100 years stands at 0.01 percent.
