PERTH: Korean electronics giant Samsung posted a YouTube video showing how the Gear VR system helped a father far at work experience the birth of his child.
“Sometimes barriers like distance keep people from being part of experiences that no one wants to miss. So we decided to help two people come together in a completely new way to let them share one of life’s most profound moments. Welcome to the world’s first live virtual reality birth using the Samsung Gear VR,” Samsung Australia said.
The video, which ran for about six minutes, showed how Jason Larke managed to see the birth of his child from 4,000 kilometers away.
“He had expected to miss the birth of his third child with wife Alison, until he was asked to be part of Samsung’s experiment. His son was born in Perth, Western Australia, from the other side of the country”. The birth is featured in a new Gear VR ad, Mashable said.
