TOKYO: Xbox Live Ultimate Game Sale added a dozen discounts to celebrate the weekend. Before the Ultimate Game Sale even started, Microsoft accidentally revealed the list of weekend deals for Xbox One. Try to act surprised when fans read them, though. The first percentage is the discount for Xbox Live Gold members, while the second is for everyone else:
Killer Instinct Complete Collection – Xbox One Game – 40% / 33%
The Walking Dead: S1+S2 Bundle – Xbox One Game – 60% / 50%
Halo: Master Chief Collection Digital – Xbox One Game – 40% / 33%
Shadow of Mordor Season Pass – Add-On – 40% / 33%
Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s inclusion on the list is a bit of a surprise. After all, it was Microsoft’s big exclusive release for the Xbox One this fall. On the other hand, a discount’s the least they could do after the months of bugs reported with that bundle.
Users are probably better off getting The Walking Dead bundle if they haven’t played either season. Telltale did a great job in creating their own unique tales in the Dead universe. The games’ two seasons a lot more action-packed and fast-paced than the TV show.
Eight Xbox 360 games are also on sale through February 22nd. Here’s the full list of the titles on sale (via Major Nelson):
Xbox 360
Fable Anniversary – Games On Demand – 50% / 40%
WWE 2K15 – Games On Demand – 40% / 33%
Naruto Storm Revolution – Games On Demand – 50% / 40%
F1 2014 – Games On Demand – 56% / 45%
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen – Games On Demand – 75% / 67%
Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed – Games on Demand – 84% / 75%
TMNT Danger of the Ooze – Arcade – 50% / 40%
Tropico 5 – Games On Demand – 50% / 40%
Dragon’s Dogma is an open-world action RPG that users probably didn’t play. Players explore vast environments along with parties of three A.I. companions. Dark Arisen is an enhanced edition of the game with a brand-new zone, fast-travel and all of the post-launch DLC for the original version.
Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed is the sort of game fans would expect to suck. For starters, it’s Sonic game and that franchise has been in the crapper for years. Plus the game, on the surface, seems like a rip-off of Mario Kart. However, Transformed turned out to be an excellent arcade racing game that made up for its lack of originality with sterling execution.
Although these particular discounts will end on the 22nd, the Ultimate Sale itself will continue until the following day.
