NEW YORK: Say hello to an easier to handle Xbox One app, where players/friends can see each other’s activity feed while playing.
The recently released Xbox Live, which can be downloaded from Xbox.com, allows a player to post a status and even send messages like that of social media network Facebook. In this newly added feature, it will be easier to access your friends’ achievements, updates, comments and videos, and even share your progress through Facebook and Twitter. This Activity feed will be the first thing they see on the interface once they log in.
Looking beyond the Xbox One Activity Feed, the company also added a Suggested Friends section, which will help users find, connect and interact with other Xbox One users with similar tastes in the video gaming world.
Besides this feature, it also collects VIPs who either shared interesting clips or have broadcasted games. So, basically, Xbox One owners/users who have done something notable will show up directly on the Xbox One game hub. The brand has also added a Showcase area, where users get to make their presence more personal. If people are not comfortable with the new interface, they can always revert to the old version.
These added features will make the gaming experience more sociable than it already is today. With people logging in and interacting more on social networking sites, it’s not a surprise that Microsoft is gearing toward this same route.
In fact, this is somewhat expected because its rival gaming console, PS4 of Sony, has also taken this approach. Now it’s up to the gaming public which one they will prefer. The bottom line is that it’s a win for the users. As all these companies try to outdo each other, the gaming experience consequently improves and more personal.
