NEW DELHI: Xiaomi provides the MIUI 6 update to the Mi 3 smartphones in India. The update comes soon after the unveiling of the company’s Mi 4 Smartphone in the country.

This makes Mi 3, Xiaomi’s first Smartphone in India, and the first model to get the latest version of the company’s proprietary user interface in the market as Mi 4 is yet to be available for purchase.

What’s interesting is the fact that Xiaomi is not abiding by its own MIUI 6 rollout plans, which it announced just two days ago, by seeding the update in January. The Chinese manufacturer had announced that Mi 3 and Redmi Note 4G will get the update in early February, while Redmi Note and 1S will receive the same in late March.

Xiaomi discontinued the Mi 3 Smartphone in late August, within a month of its launch.

At the Mi 4 unveiling, the company also announced that it will set a research & development centres in India, its first such facility outside China.
