BEIJING: The Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi is continuously proving the rest of the world that they are not only a smartphone maker, but an electronics major by launching several different products in the electronics market. On Monday, the company has launched its Mi TV 3 with 4K display panel in China. Successor to the Mi TV 2, the new TV model is the is running on Android 5.1 Lollipop-based MIUI custom ROM.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 3 is fronted with a 60-inch LG display with 4K resolution and NTSC 85 percent color gamut. It measures 11.6mm at the thinnest point and 36.7mm at the thickest point, while, the body cover boasts a diamond-patterned with a full aluminium rim.
Thanks to the ‘6M60 independent image processing chip’ along with ‘MEMC motion compensation’, which results in sharp and crisp TV viewing experience. The device completes with two different parts, one is the display while the other one is a mainboard that has three HDMI and two USB ports as well as a VGA, Ethernet, AV in, subwoofer, RF modulator and a Mi Cable port that allows users to connect the main board to the display.
Initially, the manufacturer had designed the Mi TV main board for the Mi TV 3. However, its universal design and port mapping enable the gadget to be used with other TVs, displays and projectors. The device is powered by an MStar 6A908 chipset that includes a quad-core Cortex A9 CPU that is bundled with Mali 450 M4 GPU and 2GB RAM. On storage front, the smart TV comes with 8GB of internal storage. Also, its built-in speakers along with Dolby Audio technology and a full metal body gives a complete and perfect TV viewing experience.
The Mi TV 3 has been launched in China with a price tag of RMB 4,999 (~ Rs. 51,000). Meanwhile, the Mi TV main board will be avialable for sale at RMB 999 (~ Rs. 10,000). Alog with the Mi TV 3, a Bluetooth voice control remote has also been announced that will be available for RMB 99 (~ Rs. 1,009).
The device are yet to debut in India.
