BEJING: Rumors of a possible July 2015 release for the latest Xiaomi flagship Mi 5 have been circulating the news, then followed by another talk of a possible November 2015 release . Finally, Android Headline reported that the Mi5 might actually come in November 2015 after all, based on a leaked roadmap of future releases by companies Xiaomi and Huawei.

The new flagship phone, according to a tipster from Weibo, will be made of metal and will run under the latest (but still unreleased) Qualcomm processor, the Snapdragon 820 SoC.It will also support Sense ID, an improved fingerprint scanner which uses ultrasound rather than optics, and will make the sensor different from its predecessor versions on smartphones by Samsung and Apple.

The device will also have a 5.5-inch display with QHD resolution, an option between 16GB and 64GB of internal storage, and a massive 4GB of RAM. A phone with 4GB of RAM is proven to be a must-have by gamers, as a test run by YouTube user L BS previously showed through his video the gaming performance of the then recently released Asus Zenfone 2, also sporting 4GB RAM. Multiple high-end games can be played simultaneously without any app crashing, lag, or any other performance issues. It also comes with a 16 megapixels rear camera, and an 8 megapixels front-facing camera. The phone is also expected to be thin, going as slim as 5.1mm.

There is no word yet regarding the phone’s selling price.

A bigger version of the Mi 5, the Mi Plus, is also expected to come, the phablet boasting a 6-inch wide display. The device will run on Android Lollipop (version unknown) together with Xioami’s MIUI OS.
