The users can share the videos only one-to-one and not groups. They can also add text on top of the video.

When the users tap a friend’s name, camera starts and their friend will receive a notification telling them that the user have started a chat and are typing to them. They then wait for friend to join the video chat, upon which a bar appears at the top of the screen, informing them that the video is now live.

The video starts off using the front-facing camera, but the users can switch to use the rear-facing camera by simply tapping on the screen.

The app is free and does not require the users to ‘call’ friends. The users can send a video message and they will see a notification upon their response. When the conversation is over the chat history vanishes along with the video.

Livetext is available for download on the iOS and Android and only for devices having phone numbers.
