NEW DELHI: YU Yuphoria has released an incremental update to its Cyanogen OS 12. This update with build number YNG1TBS2P2 (around 38MB in size) is available over the air and you can manually check for it by going to Settings > About Phone > System Update.
One of the major changes in this update claims to improve the camera quality to give you sharper images. According to YU, you can capture detailed macro shots even in low light.
“The proximity sensor’s performance has been optimized by including patches that will auto calibrate it every time the phone reboots. The touch panel has been made more responsive,” says a YU forum update.
This new update also claims to have better thermal management, which will help reduce the overheating issue which had plagued the YU Yuphoria. Another issue we had found with the phone when reviewing it was the typing experience being patchy on the default keyboard. Here is what we had experienced:
“In terms of heating issues, the phone does tend to get warm when running benchmarks or during gaming. I noticed that the display portion and rear side did tend to heat up when I was out in the sun, with the metal frame getting particularly warm. Another issue was the default keyboard app, which even though it supports swype-like functionality tends to miss out of a lot of alphabets, leading to spelling errors.”

This update will be rolling out over the next 2-3 weeks gradually.
