Collector Zeba reinstates customs officers after thorough probe

ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad Collector Zeba Hai Azhar has reinstated seven out of eight shift officers of Pakistan Customs after they were proved innocent during the course of investigation against them.

Earlier, the shift officers were suspended when a Chinese woman smuggled liquor and pork into Pakistan.

The shift staff included eight customs officers, including Public Relations Officer at Islamabad Airport Inspector Saqib Sheikh, Superintendent Wasim Ahmed Sheikh, Deputy Superintendent Arif Zaman Dar, Deputy Superintendent Khalid Khan, Inspector Ghulam Mustafa Mehar, Inspector Muslim and Inspector Masood Saeed.

All the above-mentioned customs officers have been reinstated, except Deputy Superintendent Arif Dar.
