Zero gas pressure, Site industries come to a halt

KARACHI: President SITE Association of Industry, Abdul Rasheed has demanded the government to direct SSGC to provide gas to industries of SITE with required pressure to complete export orders without disruption.

In a statement issued here, the SITE President protested over zero gas pressure in the SITE area, and said that it is impossible to run industry. Industrial production has come to a halt and shipping export orders on time is also not possible. He added that the SITE area is hurt the most as compared to other industrial areas of Karachi.

Expressing dismay over the prevailing situation, SAI President said that despite increasing prices and promises by the government, the gas pressure has come down to zero which is nullifying the government’s own claim of facilitating the foreign exchange earning export sector.

Abdul Rasheed demanded the government to accord first priority to industries over all other sectors and ensure that the SSGC supplies gas to Industries with required pressure on an emergent basis.
