ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has granted sales tax zero-rating on supply of gas and electricity to Five Star Textile Industries (Pvt) Ltd.
The FBR, exercising powers conferred by clause (d) of section 4 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, read with SRO 1125(1)/2011 dated 31.12.2011, made amendments in its Sales Tax General Order No 17 of 2007 dated September 13, 2007 for giving zero-rating facility on gas and electricity.
The board has advised the gas and electricity companies to stop charging sales tax on the use of electricity and gas of Five Star Textile Industries (Pvt) Ltd.
