Zero-rating on electricity supply to 7 industrial units withdrawn

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has withdrawn zero-rated sales tax on electricity supply to seven industrial units on recommendations of Regional Tax Offices (RTO) concerned.

The FBR, exercising powers conferred upon it by clause (d) of section 4 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, read with SRO, 1125(I)2011 dated 31.12.2011, made the following further amendments in its Sales Tax General Order No 16 of 2007 dated September 13, 2007.

Under the amendments, in the Table, serial number 1046, 229, 774, 815, 363, 496 and 2,468 in column (1) and entries relating thereto in columns (2), (3) and (4) will be omitted.

The concession of zero-rated sales tax granted to Muhammad Dyeing & Bleaching, Dacca Silk Mills, Shahnoor Weavers, Sunbright Hosiery, Hassan Fabrics, M Yaha M Yousaf Bari and Muhammad Younis W/F has been withdrawn.
