RTO Karachi Zone-I blacklists 900 persons’ sales tax registration

KARACHI: The Regional Tax Office Karachi Zone-I has blacklisted sales tax registration of as many as 900 registered persons involved in issuance of fake and flying invoices, non-existent at declared address/non-filling, etc under Section 21(2) of the Sales Tax Act, 1990.

The action was taken on the directives of Regional Tax Office (RTO-I) Inland Revenue Chief Commissioner Hafiz Muahammad Ali Indhar, who has taken exception to the reports of issuance of fake and flying invoices and had directed all zones to take action against those involved in this crime.

The Zone-I, taking the lead in this regard, first suspended the registration of these persons and later blacklisted their registration.

As for now, necessary action against buyers and suppliers of these blacklisted registered persons is underway.
