NEW DELHI: ZTE has lately been launching new smartphones under its premium Nubia and Axon brands. However, this has not diverted its focus from other pocket-friendly offerings as it has now launched three new V3 series smartphones – the ZTE V3 Youth Edition, ZTE V3 Energy Edition, and ZTE V3 Extreme Edition.

Currently available for pre-booking from the company’s China website, the ZTE V3 Youth is priced at CNY 999, while the V3 Energy and the V3 Extreme edition cost CNY 1299 and CNY 1499 respectively. There is no word as to when the trio would reach India or other regions. It is worth mentioning that all the three budget and mid-range smartphones sport a metal aluminium build and a fingerprint sensor at the rear panel below the camera setup, features that are considered premium.

All the three ZTE V3 smartphones sport identical specifications, except for network support – with each offering slightly different configurations. The trio comes with 4G LTE network compatibility including the TDD-LTE B40 band supported in India, as per the company listing page. Other 4G bands supported include TDD-LTE: B38, B39, B41 and FDD-LTE B1, B3, B7. More details can be found on the company’s China site.

The dual-SIM supporting ZTE V3 Youth Edition, V3 Energy Edition, and the V3 Extreme Edition run the company’s proprietary Nubia 3.0 UI based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The second SIM slot of the handsets also doubles as a microSD card slot.

The three new ZTE V3 smartphones house 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution displays with a pixel density of 401ppi and are powered by 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processors (four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz + four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1GHz), clubbed with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.

All three also sport 13-megapixel rear cameras with f/2.2 aperture and NeoVision 5.0, besides 5-megapixel front-facing cameras with f/2.2 aperture and a 88-degree wide camera lens. The ZTE V3 smartphones also feature 16GB of eMMC 4.5 inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). Wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Glonass, and USB connectivity.

Measuring the same at 155.3×8.55×77.2mm, the ZTE V3 Youth Edition, V3 Energy Edition and V3 Extreme Edition all weigh 160 grams and are backed by 3000mAh non-removable batteries. While the V3 Youth Edition will arrive in Silver colour variant, the V3 Energy Edition and V3 Extreme Edition would come in Gold colour variant.
