1095 barrels/day: OGDCL makes 104th oil, gas  discovery in 4 months

ISLAMABAD: The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has claimed to discover another natural oil reserves from exploratory Well Palli Deep-1, located in District Tando Allah Yar, Sindh with 100 per cent OGDCL ownership.

This is the 104th hydrocarbons discovery, which OGDCL has made within the short span of four months during the current fiscal year.

The structure of Well Palli Deep # 01 was delineated, drilled and tested by using OGDCL’s in house expertise. The well was drilled down to the depth of 4050 meters, targeting to test the hydrocarbon potential of Upper Sand of Lower Goru Formation.

Significant reserves of oil have been found at Well Palli Deep # 01 in (Basal Sand & Middle Sand) of Lower Goru Sand formation, which produced, 1095 barrels of oil per day at 32/64” choke size. This discovery of Palli Well Deep-1 will add to the hydrocarbon reserves base of the OGDCL and GHPL.

OGDCL Managing Director and CEO Muhammad Rafi further expressed that OGDCL has reached the 104th landmark of hydrocarbon well discovery at Palli Deep-01 Well located in District Tando Tallah Yar, Sindh Province. He further appraised that OGDCL is Pakistan’s premier and largest Oil & Gas Exploration and Production Company, which contributes 55% of Pakistan’s oil output and 31% of Natural Gas output. OGDCL is the top tax paying company in Pakistan with annual tax payments surpassing Rs. 50 billions.
