KARACHI: Acting President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Muffasar A Malik, has assured All Pakistan Security Agencies Association (APSAA) that the KCCI will once again raise its voice against the unjust imposition of 10 per cent General Sales Tax (GST) on Security Agencies.

“In this regard, the Karachi Chamber will approach Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) and ask them to review this unjust decision. KCCI will also discuss it with Chief Minister and Governor Sindh in the forthcoming meetings”, Acting President KCCI said during a meeting with Chairman APSAA, Col (R) Tauqirul Islam who visited the Chamber.

Muffasar Malik was of the view that it is the prime responsibility of the government to ensure security to the lives and property of citizens but the government has failed to do so, leaving no other option for the business community but to hire private security guards, resulting in additional expenses on security whereas the imposition of GST on Security Agencies would further exacerbate the situation.

Aamir Aziz Director the Muhafiz Security, Munir Ahmed of Pak Securities Services and Managing Committee members of KCCI were also present at the meeting.
