KARACHI: A division bench of Sindh High Court (SHC), headed by Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abassi, has asked the DIG Traffic Police and Motorway Police officer to inform the court about measures taken to remove substandard gas cylinders and kits from public transport vehicles.

The SHC bench, taking up a petition filed by United Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, has issued notice to the above said official. Rana Faizul Hassan representing Rights body submitted several people had lost their lives due to use of substandard gas cylinders in public transport, but authorities concerned failed taking any action against such traffic violations. He pleaded court to order removal of substandard cylinders and government-verified cylinders/CNG kits used by public and private transport to avoid accidents.
